This semester of art I have learned dozens of new techniques and skills in a variety of different types of art, from drawing 3-d rooms to cutting the edges of clay pots at 45 degrees so they would form a right angle. I feel that I have been very successful in learning how to do new things and completing the work. I was surprised at how fast we learned new topics but it seemed to flow together. I plan on taking ceramics in 10th grade and I'm hoping to use the skills I learned in the clay unit to create better pieces of work. My favorite project was the Spooky Trees drawing on the iPads, I had never used a sketch app and found it be very different but in a good kind of way. It was nice in a sense that there was room for error, but it was also harder to draw with precision using the stylus'.

In this iPad drawing I learned how to draw using an app on a device, I had never done this before and it was very interesting in how different it is. I found it much harder than using a pencil and paper or other more traditional
techniques, however it was nice to be able to go through and correct mistakes by simply pushing a button. I also learned how to see a picture and see the different layers of light and darkness, how being farther away in view can make an object more illuminated since it's not hidden from the light

In the clay box project I used a new technique of cutting all the sides at 45 degree angles so when put together they formed a right angle and stood upward and didn't have any problems in putting them together. It was easy to do once I got it down and was much faster then going through the old way.
